INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Dust extraction
Connect dust exhaust (12) to extraction system
(if available) using adapter supplied.
Start, stop and speed control
Adjust the saw's maximum speed by turning the
speed selector switch (2) to the desired position.
Speed can also be adjusted whilst saw is in use.
Check blade guard is lowered.
Start the machine by depressing the on/off button
(4).
The blade will move up and down.
The saw can be kept running for long periods by
pressing the lock button (3). The lock button can
be released by pressing the on/off button in as far
as it will go.
Switch off by releasing the on/off button.
Adjusting the pendulum regulator
The saw blade pendulum (counterweight) has
three settings which can be selected using the
pendulum regulation knob (11). The settings can
be used to adjust cutting speed to the type of
material to be cut.
Use a low pendulum speed or switch the
function off if a very fine cut is required.
Switch the function off if working on very thin
materials, such as sheet metal.
Use a low setting if working on hard materials,
such as steel.
Use the maximum setting when working on
soft materials and when sawing with the grain.
General
Never use a blade unsuitable for the task and item
to be cut.
Hold the saw in front of you with a firm grip on
the handle (1).
Ensure that the saw blade is not touching
anything and that the power cable is not in the
way when starting the saw.
Make sure that the material is clamped tight, and
that the saw line is clearly marked.
ENGLISH
Start the saw. Place the soleplate on the item, and
let the saw blade touch the saw line.
Saw, but do not place more pressure on the blade
than is necessary. Avoid lateral pressure on the
blade.
Special notes on jig sawing
Place the soleplate on the item so the saw blade is
vertical and correctly positioned in relation to the
saw line without touching it.
Start the saw and tilt it carefully while supporting
it using the soleplate until the blade touches the
item at the saw line.
Let the blade work through the item, continuing
to tip the saw downwards until the sole is flush to
the item and the blade is perpendicular to it. If
necessary, drill a hole of suitable diameter in the
item for use as starting point.
Sawing wood
Check that the item does not contain nails or
other metal objects.
Sawing metal
We recommend lubricating the material and saw
blade with cutting oil to protect the tool and
avoid overheating. Support the item with wooden
blocks on either side.
Sawing plastic
Never cut using maximum speed.
Make a test cut first to check if the material can
tolerate the heat generated by sawing.
Sawing masonry
Harmful dust can be caused by cutting certain
materials. Always wear a mask.

Maintenance

Check all screws on the saw regularly, particularly
those that hold the blade. Tighten if required.
Check regularly that the carbon brushes are in a
good condition. If the carbon brushes are worn
down, they should be replaced.
