The Drawing Tools section has a manual button (the small arrow on the left). With it we
can freely draw our own function, by creating nodes and defining curve shapes for the
different segments. To create new nodes, simply click over the line. To change the shape of
the segment, click and drag the handle that's in the middle of each segment.
There's also three quick draw functions that may be called instead. With them, you can
quickly draw some automated curves. Finally, we have a "magnetize" feature (the button on
the right of the row, with the little magnet icon) which allows to quickly position the nodes
at exact positions inside a grid.
The Function Generator is capable of complex shapes (as we said, we may even use it as
a very complex pattern/step sequencer), and these can be very difficult to reproduce, as
well as very time consuming. That's why the Function Generator has its own preset library,
where we can save our own functions for later use, or load previously stored function
shapes.

Last but not least, a randomizer (the dice symbol, labeled Regen, positioned on the right),
allows to change randomly the selected Function. By click and drag over the Regen button
(the small "dice") several times in a row, some quite interesting function curves can be
obtained.
When the Add To Manual button is pressed, the FCT indicator LED that's positioned over
the Manual knob in the Main panel turns on, to indicate that the Function Generator is
modulating the Manual setting.
The Function Generator window is also dimmed when the Add To Manual button is off,
which is another visual clue to tell you that it isn't actually having an effect on the audio. As
soon as you turn on that button, the window becomes brighter.

♪: Remember: Although it is always running, the Function Generator only has some impact in the
sound when the Add To Manual button is pressed, and the Manual button in the Control Mode section is
On.
