Page 2: Installing The Batteries
Thank you for selecting the PCE-PH 28L pocket pH meter. This manual provides a step-by-step guide to help you operate the meter, please carefully read the following instructions before use. Installing the Batteries • Twist the electrode collar counter clockwise, pull the electrode away from the meter. - Page 3 Keypad The meter has a succinct membrane keypad, names and symbols describe each function key controls. Setup Menu PCE-PH 28L pocket pH meter contains an integrated setup menu that is used to customize the displayed option to meet measurement requirements. MENU DESCRIPTION OPTIONS DEFAULT Set the pH buffer group for calibration and auto- USA (pH4.01/7.00/10.01) recognition. -
Page 6: Single Point Calibration
Calibration PCE-PH 28L pocket pH meter allows up to 3 points calibration. We recommend that you perform at least 2 points calibration for high accuracy measurement. The meter will automatically recognize and calibrate to following standard buffer values. USA Standard Buffers pH4.01, 7.00, 10.01... - Page 7 2 points calibration Make sure that you have selected 2 points calibration in the setup menu. Repeat the steps 1.2 to 1.4 above. When the first calibration point is completed, the display will show CAL2. The meter prompts you to continue with second point calibration.
- Page 8 Rinse the electrode with distilled water. Place the electrode into the pH4.01 buffer solution. Stir the electrode gently. Enter Press the key, the meter begins the calibration. Wait for the reading to stabilize, the display automatically shows the electrode slope and pH10.01/CAL3 (or pH9.18/CAL3). Rinse the electrode with distilled water.

Temperature Calibration During the measurement process, if the temperature reading displayed differs from that of an accurate thermometer, the meter needs to be calibrated. Press and hold the key for 3 seconds to enter the setup menu. Enter Press the key until the meter shows °C/CAL or °F/CAL. -
Page 10: Electrode Care And Maintenance
• Record the measured value when the reading is stable. Auto-Hold PCE-PH 28L pocket pH meter contains an Auto-Hold function. If enabled, the meter will automatically sense a stable reading and lock the Hold measurements. The icon appears on the display. If disabled, press the key, the meter will immediately lock the displayed value. -
