Compressed air or petroleum-based solvents
such as kerosene must not be used for cleaning
the paper ilter insert. This will damage the ilter.
The paper ilter insert must not be oiled.
9.11.2
Cleaning / Replacement - mod.:

For the frequency of this intervention
see chapter 13.
NOTE! The ilters should be cleaned/re-
placed more often if the machine opera-
tes on very dusty ground.
Remove/install the air ilters as follows:
1. Carefully clean around the air ilter cover.
2. Remove the air ilter cover (33:A) by remo-
ving the two clamps.
3. Dismantle the ilter assembly (33:B). The pre-
ilter is placed over the air ilter. Make sure
that no dirt gets into the carburettor. Clean
the air ilter housing.
4. Clean the paper ilter by tapping it gently
against a lat surface. If the ilter is very dirty,
replace it.
5. Clean the pre-ilter. If the ilter is very dirty,
replace it.
6. Assemble the ilter by performing the above
instructions in reverse order.

Remove/install the air ilters as follows:
1. Clean the area around the ilter cover (34:A).
2. Open the cover (34:A) by unscrewing the
opening k nob (34:B).
3. Remove the ilter element (34:C + 34:D).
4. Remove the sponge pre-ilter (34:D) from the
cartridge (34:C).
5. Tap the cartridge (34:C) on a solid surface
and blow with compressed air from the inside
to remove dust and debris.
6. Wash the sponge pre-ilter (34:D) with water
and detergent and leave it to dry in the air.
7. Clean any dust and debris from the inside of
the ilter housing (34:E) taking care to close
the intake duct with a rag (34:F) to prevent

foreign bodies entering the engine.
8. Remove the rag (34:F), reit the ilter element
(34:D + 34:C) in its housing and reit the co-
ver (34:A).

Replace the spark plug

Before removing the spark plug, clean around its
mounting.
For the type of spark plug and relative spark gap,
please refer to "0 TECHNICAL DATA TABLE".
9.11.5

Cleaning the air intake.

For the frequency of this intervention
see chapter 13.
See igure (32:C).
The engine is air-cooled.
A blocked cooling system can damage the engine.
More meticulous cleaning of the cooling system
should be carried out during each basic service.

9.12 LUBRICATION (30)
