3.3 Test adapter product description

The following product description refers only to the
test adapter 0 986 618 001. Heed paragraph 2.1 "Im-
portant information" in section 2 "User instructions"!
The connection between the diagnostic tester and ge-
nerator regulator is established on the test bench using
the adapter (fig. 1), the connection and regulator-spe-
cific adapter cables (fig. 2) and an OBD adapter cable
(special accessory).
Signals can be received at the ports LIN / BSS ground
(fig 1, items 3, 4).
Using an external voltmeter or an oscilloscope, the
regulated voltage set with the aid of the control unit
diagnostic software for component tests (FCR) can be
measured and compared at the ports B+ / B– (fig. 1,
items 8, 4).

The harmonic content can also be checked at the
ports B+ / B– with an oscilloscope.
