8. Radius bending of wires and round metal bars

The Profiform Rondo radius bending rolling machine is equipped with five
grooves (19) for radius bending of round bars of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 mm diameter.
Prepare the machine as per Section 7.1. Make sure that the grooves (19) of the
same size in the top (11) and the lower (10) driving-roller run exactly in line with
each other. If they don't, the top driving roller has to be slid slightly sideways to
the appropriate side until the two identical grooves are perfectly aligned. Check
before every use of the machine with round bars.
Round bars can be worked on corresponding to Section 7.2. whereas the bars
have to be introduced into the corresponding grooves of the driving rollers.

9. Demounting and mounting of the top driving-roller

If completely closed tubes or rings are shaped on the machine, these can only
be taken out of the machine by removing the top driving-roller (11). After
finishing the workpiece this has to be done as follows:
-
Loosen the two adjusting screws (12/13) of the top driving-roller.
-
Loosen the two fixing screws (14) of the fixtures (15/16).
-
Swing the two fixtures completely away from the machine. Therefore
the adjusting screw (13) on the gear side of the top driving-roller has to
be loosened as far as to make sure not to collide with the gear (18) or
with the gear cover (17) while swinging the fixture (16).
-
Hold the top driving-roller (11) firmly on both ends and remove it together
with the workpiece from the machine.
-
Remove the workpiece.
Mounting of the top driving-roller is made similarly in reverse order. The
following additional points are to be observed:
-
The top driving-roller (11) is pushed upwards by a spring in each of the
two side plates (15/16) of the machine. The spring force has to be over-
come by pushing the top driving-roller downwards by hand on each side
respectively.
-
Swing fully back the fixtures (15+16) in working position.
-
Tighten the fixing screws (14) of the fixture.
-
Tighten the two adjusting screws (12/13) of the top driving-roller until the
two driving-rollers (10/11) contact each other evenly on their full length.
Warning: Make sure that the two gears (18) of the driving-rollers
engage properly with each other. This can be facilitated by moving the
hand crank (3) back and forth while tightening the adjusting screws.
