4. Safety information

This operating instruction manual must be thoroughly and carefully read
before the machine is used for the first time.
The machine must first be mounted in a solid vice before being used! (see
Section 6.) No adjustments are to be made to or functions performed on
the machine unless it is firmly mounted!
Sheet metal can be very sharp-edged. In order to avoid injuries, it is necessary
that care be taken. It is recommended that leather gloves be worn when working
with sheet metal.
5. Operating limits (Maximum material thickness)
Aluminium sheet metal (Al 99.5%)
Brass semi-hard, copper and Tinplate sheet metal
Maximum diameter of round bars and wires
In no way are the operating limits stated above to be exceeded; otherwise,
damage to the machine can occur.
6. Unpacking and assembling the machine
Profiform machines are delivered packed in a protecting, recyclable cardboard
box. Because of its weight, the machine must be unpacked on a rigid table or
work bench.
Securely mount the machine in a rigid vice with a minimum jaw width of
100 mm as follows:
-
Open the vice jaws until they are between 45 and 48 mm apart.
-
Slide the machine from above between the jaws. The recess (2) in the
red machine base (1) is made to lean on the front jaw of the vice and to
help to support the machine while the vice is tightened.
-
Firmly tighten the vice to make sure that the machine is securely held.
If a permanent mounting on a work bench is desired, the machine can be bolted
to it by means of two M8 screws. For this purpose there are two M8 attaching
threads in the machine base (1). Be sure to mount the machine in a place to
allow the hand crank (3) to be entirely revolved.
