GUIDE TO INSTALLATION AND OPERATION 3. Bypass Bypass triggers relays located on the rear panel to connect the selected inputs directly to the outputs. The bypassed DCO-17n1 card is electrically disconnected from the signal system, and can be removed from the frame with no discontinuity in the signal path.

The information is used to decide whether the input must be switched in Auto mode. It is also used to flag the status of the card in the iControl system.
