18 Troubleshooting

18.1 Troubleshooting Special Harvester and Battery

Condition LEDs on Battery
Special harvester 1 LED flashes
does not run when green.
switched on.
1 LED glows red. Battery too hot or too cold. ► Remove the battery.
3 LEDs flash red. There is a malfunction in

Cause
Battery has low charge.

Rakes do not move freely. ► Spray both sides of rakes with STIHL resin solvent.

► Recharge the battery fully as described in the
instruction manual for the STIHL AL 101, 300, 500
chargers.
► Allow battery to cool down or warm up.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean contacts in battery compartment.
► Fit the battery.
► Switch on the special harvester.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not use your
special harvester and contact your STIHL servicing
dealer for assistance.
► If 3 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not use your
special harvester and contact your STIHL servicing
dealer for assistance.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the special harvester to cool down.
► Remove battery and insert it again.
► Switch on the special harvester.
► If 4 LEDs continue to flash red: Do not use the
battery and contact your STIHL dealer for
assistance.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean contacts in battery compartment.
► Fit the battery.
► Allow the special harvester or battery to dry.
► Remove the battery.
► Allow the special harvester to cool down.
