Maintenance & Care
STEP 2
Pull the starter grip until resistance is felt.
Continue pulling until the notch on the starter
puller aligns with the hole on the recoil starter.
At this point, the intake and exhaust valves are
closed and this will help to protect the engine
from internal corrosion.
STEP 3
Follow the cleaning instructions as set out in
the previous section.
STEP 4
Follow the maintenance section and check,
service or replace serviceable items if
required.
STEP 5
Make sure all moving parts are lubricated with
a light silicone based spray or grease.
STEP 6
Drain and replace with new engine oil.
STEP 7
Be sure the storage area is free of excessive
humidity and dust. Store the machine in a
clean, cool and dry place away from sources
of ignition and varying changes in
temperature. DO NOT store a machine that
has not been given time to fully cool down.
Do not place the tiller with the handlebars on
the ground. It will cause the oil entering the
cylinder or fuel spillage. Do not stack other
items on top of the machine when in storage.
Transporation & Handling
1. When transporting the tiller, turn the fuel
valve OFF and keep the tiller level to prevent
fuel spillage. Fuel vapour or spilled fuel may
be easily ignited.
2. Whenever the machine is to be handled,
lifted, transported or tilted you must:
- Wear sturdy work gloves
- Hold the machine at the points that offer a
safe grip, taking into account the weight and
relative distribution of the same
- Use an appropriate number of people for the
weight of the machine and the characteristics
of the vehicle or the place where it must be
placed or collected (see image).
- You must make sure that machine
movements do not cause petrol leaks,
damage or injuries.
Care must be taken when handling and lifting.
Dropping the maching will have an effect on
the accuracy and may also result in personal
injury. Be sure to transport the tiller from one
place to another by two people, if a carrier is
not available.
3. During transport, make sure to fasten the
machine securely with cables or straps.
