Operation

1. Screw the rising pipe extension (8) together up to the required height. Take
care, that the sealings seat correctly in the fittings. You can use the rising
pipe (9) also without extension.
2. Screw on the rising pipe (9) to the fitting (2) at the pump housing.
3. Place the pump inside the rain collector in that way that the vent valve (10)
protrudes beyond the seam of the receptacle.
4. You can attach a garden hose with quick connector to the hose connection
(11) of the rising pipe or to fill a watering can. The vent valve (10) fulfils the
function of a water tap.
5. Insert the power cable (4) into a protected socket.
6. To turn off the pump pull off the power plug (4).
Dry-Running of the Pump
Take care that the float switch (1) is able to move about freely. At a water level of
ca. 50 cm, the pump switches on automatically (if the plug is inserted). When the
water level sinks lower than 7 cm, the pump turns off.
This will prevent dry-running of the pump.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Rinse the pump periodically by pumping clear water to ensure continuous
operation.
Unplug the power plug before undertaking any kind of maintenance work or
cleaning of the pump.
Clean periodically the filter inside the filter housing (7). To do this, please
press against the locking bracket (6) and remove the filter mounting. Now,
you can clean the filter under running water.
Never use corrosive or acidic cleaners to clean the pump.
To protect the pump from frost, please store it in a dry place.
The pump does not contain any parts serviceable by you. Do not disassemble
the pump and do not try to repair it yourself. Please feel free to contact the
Westfalia customer service, if there are any questions or problems.
