Hybrid PV System Glossary 1. Hybrid/Off-grid PV Inverter: Manager of PV inputs, charging, discharging and load supplying functions 2. PV panels: Receive sunlight and convert it into electricity 3. Battery Bank: Stores energy from mains and PV inputs 4. Protected Loads: Appliances & devices take AC power from SP VITALITY-S, especially in blackout 5.
  • Page 11: Principles Of Operation

Principles of Operation Functions The Hybrid PV system is an intelligent and automatic power manager, it can be On-grid Power Manager In places with grid (utility), SP VITALITY-S can manage the power from PV, grid and battery. For protected loads connected to SP VITALITY-S, during blackout, SP VITALITY-S can supply power to them from PV and/or batteries.
  • Page 12: On-Grid Mode- Net Metering

MPPT Grid or Generator CHG/DisCHG This application is suitable for Blackout With utility, but user DO NOT want to use utility or use utility as a backup source In this mode, inverter output is physically separated from grid, therefore, no power can be injected to grid.
  • Page 13: On-Grid Mode- Self Using

MPPT CHG/DisCHG This application is suitable for Surplus PV power can be feed to grid and paid. On-grid mode- Self Using In some applications, e.g. grid is weak or feeding grid is not beneficial, surplus power feeding is not encouraged; the PV power is used by their own. This is “Self Using”.
