9.1 Stop

When the STOP bit is set to "1" or the STOP input is turned ON via serial communication while the motor is
operating, the motor operation will stop.
A desired STOP input logic can be set using a switch according to 6.5 "Setting switches" on p.23, or by
issuing a Sensor logic setting (15h) command.
The following three stop methods are available. You can set a desired method using a Stop method (13h)
command.
• Deceleration stop
• Immediate stop
• Instantaneous stop followed by excitation OFF
If a stop is triggered while the motor is paused during positioning operation, the pause status will be cancelled
and the motor will stop according to the stop method set by the Stop method (13h) command.

9.2 Soft limit

When a positioning operation or continuous operation (except for LS pull-out operation) is started where the
position specified by a Soft limit CW (B8h) command or Soft limit CCW (B9h) command is to be exceeded,
the motor will decelerate to a stop at the soft limit position and an alarm will generate.
The operation pattern shown below applies when an operation where a soft limit is to be exceeded is started.
Example: Operation in CW direction
Soft limit CCW
CW
CCW
• Whether to enable or disable the soft limit function can be selected using a Soft limit setting (17h)
command.
If the value of the current position counter is outside the control coordinate range (OVER-P), the soft limit
function is disabled regardless of the command setting.
• If the value of the current position counter is equal to or greater than the soft limit CW value when
operation is started in CW direction, or if the value of the current position counter is equal to or below than
the soft limit CCW value when operation is started in CCW direction, issuing a start command will not
start the operation and an alarm will generate.

9.3 Limit sensor

When the CWLS or CCWLS input is turned ON during positioning operation or continuous operation, the
motor will stop immediately and an alarm will generate. If the limit sensor input is turned ON, issuing a
positioning operation start command will only generate an alarm and the operation will not be started.
Continuous operation can be performed in CCW direction while the CWLS input is ON, or in CW direction
while the CCWLS input is ON. In this case, the motor will operate at a constant speed corresponding to the
starting speed specified for the continuous operation. After reaching the limit sensor position, the motor will
pull out from the sensor position and stop there, upon which the operation will be completed. Operation
cannot be started in any other direction, because an alarm will generate when a start command is issued.
• A desired input logic for CWLS and CCWLS can be set using a switch according to 6.5 "Setting switches"
on p.23, or by issuing a Sensor logic setting (15h) command.
• The ON/OFF status of CWLS and CCWLS can be checked using a Status (3Ch) command.
