INSPECTION

Service scope

once a year or every 200 operating hours
Your Volkswagen Marine boat engine must be serviced once a year at the end of the
season or every 200 operating hours.
You should have the service work on your Volkswagen Marine boat engine conducted by
your VW Marine Service Partner, as the work required specialised knowledge and special
tools.
The following table shows the work required.
Work required
Visual inspection for leaks from above and below
Interrogate fault memory
Changing engine oil
Renew oil filter insert
Renew circulation filter element*
Renew fuel supply filter
Check coolant level
Check air filter and clean if necessary
Check condition of ribbed V-belt for seawater pump
Check condition of ribbed V-belt for alternator etc.
Check condition of toothed belt for camshaft drive
Clean seawater filter*
Renew seawater pump impeller
Check reactive anode and renew if necessary
Note
Maintenance must be performed on the re-
versing gear according to the specifications
of the respective manufacturer.
