17. TROUBLESHOOTING

Below is a list of some of the possible malfunctions.
If the problem cannot be resolved as described, contact Customer Services.
PROBLEM
The co ee is not hot.
The co ee is weak or not creamy
enough.
The tank (A16) is not correctly in place.
The inside of the appliance is very dirty.
The water circuit is empty
The water softener lter (C4) is exhausted.
Milk has been delivered recently and the tubes
inside the milk container must be cleaned (D).
The cappuccino maker/hot water spout (C6) is
not inserted or is inserted incorrectly
The milk container (D) is not inserted correctly. Insert the milk container ( g. 24) as far as it
POSSIBLE CAUSE
The cups were not preheated.
The internal circuits have cooled down
because 2/3 minutes have elapsed
since the last co ee was made.
A low co ee temperature is set.
The co ee is ground too coarsely.
The co ee is unsuitable.
Insert the tank correctly and press as far as it
will go.
Clean the inside of the appliance thoroughly,
as described in section "11. CLEANING". If the
message is still displayed after cleaning, con-
tact a service centre.
Press OK (B12- g. 10) to deliver water from
the spout (C6) until it ows out normally. If the
problem persists, make sure the water tank
(A16) is fully inserted.
Replace the lter or remove it as described in
section "14. WATER SOFTENER FILTER".
Turn the froth adjustment dial (D1) to the
CLEAN position ( g. 26).
Insert the spout as far as it will go.

SOLUTION
Enable the cup warmer (A6), leave the
cups at least 20 minutes to warm up.
Warm the cups by rinsing them with hot
water (Please note: you can use the hot
water function).
Before making the co ee, heat the infuser by
rinsing using the "rinse" function (see section
"7.1 Rinsing").
Set a hotter co ee temperature (see section
"7.10 Setting the temperature").
Turn the grinding adjustment dial (A5) one
click anticlockwise towards "1" while the cof-
fee mill is in operation ( g. 14). Continue one
click at a time until co ee delivery is satisfac-
tory. The e ect is only visible after delivering
2 co ees (see section "8.4 Adjusting the co ee
mill").
Use pre-ground co ee for espresso machines.
