When setting up a test, the FORCE terminal (center conductor) of the SMU is used to apply voltage or current to the device.

Line voltage is automatically sensed, but line frequency is not. The 4200A-SCS power switch allows you to either shut down the instrument without shutting down the software, or shut down the instrument and the software.
