SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Always place the appliance on a dry, level,
firm and heat-resistant surface well away
from any edges.
Always place the appliance at a safe
distance from flammable objects such as
curtains, tablecloths or similar.
The appliance must not be placed or
stored near other sources of heat.
Do not cover.
Never insert your fingers or any metal
objects into the openings of the appliance
as this could cause electrical shocks.
The metal parts get very hot during use.
Do not touch them due to the danger of
burns.
Please note that the appliance will remain
hot for a while after you switch it off.
Always allow it to cool completely before
you put it away or clean it.
The appliance should be regularly emptied
of crumbs, as these could cause a fire.
The appliance must not be used without a
crumb tray.
Foods wrapped in foil or similar and very
thick slices of bread must not be heated
on the appliance, as this could lead to a
fire hazard.

Do not use the appliance to toast or heat
bread with runny fillings, sugar or icing, as
they may get stuck on the appliance and
burn.
Do not use the appliance to toast bread
with a topping, butter, etc. and never use it
to toast anything other than bread.

PRIOR TO FIRST USE

Wipe the exterior surfaces of the appliance
with a damp cloth and let the appliance
dry.
Allow the appliance to run through an
entire toasting cycle without bread. The
first few times the appliance is used, there
may be a small amount of smoke and a
slight smell. This is completely normal,
and the smoke/smell will soon disappear.
Please ensure sufficient ventilation.
