Chapter 2. Installing the I/O expansion card This chapter provides detailed instructions for installing the I/O expansion card in your blade server. Note: Your Ethernet controllers support failover, which provides automatic redundancy for your Ethernet controllers. Without failover, you can have only one Ethernet controller from the I/O expansion card attached to each virtual LAN or subnet. With failover, you can configure more than one Ethernet controller from the I/O expansion card to attach to the same virtual LAN or subnet.

Note: You must remove the bezel assembly from the BladeCenter T unit before you can access the blade server. Firmly grip the blue touch points (at the top-left and top-right sides of the bezel) and forcefully pull forward, lifting the bezel up and away from the BladeCenter T unit.

If an IDE drive is in IDE connector 2, remove the drive and tray (save the screws that secure the tray to the system board); otherwise, remove the two rear-board mounting screws (near IDE connector 2). 11.
