Fitting the guide bar

Position the guide bar over the
N
bolts (1) – the cutting edges of the
saw chain must point to the right
Position the locating hole (2) over
N
the peg of the tensioner slide –
simultaneously place the saw chain
over the sprocket wheel (3)

Turn screw (3) to the right until there
N
is very little chain sag on the
underside of the bar – and the drive
link tangs engage in the bar groove

Refit the chain sprocket cover and
N
then screw on the nut by hand until
it is finger-tight
Go to chapter "Tensioning the
N
Chain"

Tensioning the Chain

For retensioning during operation:
Remove the battery from the
N
machine
Loosen nut
N
Raise the guide bar at the nose
N
Use the screwdriver to turn the
N
screw (1) to the right until the saw
chain rests against the underside of
the guide bar
Continue raising the guide bar
N
further and tighten the nut securely
Next step: Continue with "Checking
N
Chain Tension"
A new saw chain must be retensioned
more frequently than one that has been
in use already for an extended period!
Check chain tension frequently –
