The power supply should be in the range 18-30VDC at 0.4A. This
is normally supplied from the controller. J1 pin 11 is Ground and
pin 12 is +24VDC. The power connector ground pin should be
connected to the chassis ground via a 2.5mm diameter wire.
The multicore cable should have 24AWG cores for distances up to
75 meters. Above this, 18AWG should be used.

CONTRAST ADJUSTMENT

Contrast may need to be adjusted depending on the incident light-
ing conditions.
1.
During normal operation, select the MAINTENANCE screen
and then use the "Contrast & Brightness" button to adjust the
contrast.

INITIAL SETUP

When turning the screen on for the first time, you will be taken
through the initial setup. You will first be prompted to select a lan-
guage by pressing the appropriate flag.
Next, if the G-panel has firmware version 4.xx or later, the main
menu will automatically be configured to display the correct but-
tons. For firmware 3.xx and earlier, you will be prompted to enable
the appropriate menu buttons. Enable the Paralleling button if the
display is connected to a PM-PC, enable the CAN Bus button if the
unit is equipped with the CAN Bus, and enable the bi-fuel button if
the unit is bi-fuel. If these settings need to be changed in the future,
this configuration screen can be accessed by selecting Configure
from the Maintenance screen.
You will then be prompted to enter the maximum rated current,
maximum rated power, and target frequency for the generator. If
required, you will then be directed to enter the maximum rated cur-
rent and maximum rated power for the bus. The target frequency
should be the same as for the generator. If these settings need to
be changed in the future, they can be accessed from the "Generator
Gauges" and "Bus Gauges" screens, respectively.
Initial setup is now complete. All of these settings will be retained
if power to the screen is lost. If power is lost before initial setup is
complete, the display will return to the setup screens once power
returns.

CALIBRATION

As the unit can be mounted at different angles, there may be cali-
bration required to compensate for parallax errors.
1. During normal operation, select the MAINTENANCE screen and
then the "Calibrate Touchscreen" button.
2. Three calibration crosses appear in succession on the screen,
touch them as they appear.

CLEANING

As a result of normal operation the screen will become dirty and
should be cleaned with a soft cloth. In order to prevent operating
the touchscreen during this time, select the MAINTENANCE page
and choose the "Clean Screen" option.

TOUCHSCREEN OPERATION

Operate the touch screen with a finger only, do not use pens or
other pointed objects.
The display has a screen saver that will turn off the backlight after
five (5) minutes of inactivity. Once the backlight is off, touch the
screen to return to the last page viewed.

FUNCTIONALITY

The display screen has been devised as a way to examine data
within the PM-PC/GC. Changes to settings cannot be made from
this screen, this can only be done via GenLink™. Data has been
divided into groups and each group is shown as a button on the
menu screen. Touching the button will access the main screen for
the group. Some groups, such as diagnostics, may also have sub
screens associated with them. Each screen has some fixed but-
tons which allow either access to help text for that screen (context
sensitive help) or return to the main menu (Figure 2).

SOFTWARE VERSION DISPLAY

The software version number for the PM-PC/GC, and the version
number for the display software, are located on the status page
which is accessed via the "SYSTEM STATUS" touch button. This
should always be referred to when requesting help or service from
Generac and it's dealers.
