Operation
Setting the auto cleaning function

The factory setting of the Auto Cleaning function is OFF. Setting the
function ON or OFF and designating the bin for the cleaning tape is done
via the RS-232C port.

Set the communication software on the host computer as shown below,
and connect the RS232C-1 connector on the rear of the DMS-B9 with
the host computer using an RS-232C cable (cross).

Set the POWER switch of the DMS-B9 to ON, and wait until >IN USE
appears on the LCD panel.

Press the Return key on the host computer.
>RUNNING appears on the screen of the host computer.

Set bit 2 of the software switch (CSTM) ON using the CUSTOM 1
command to set the Auto Cleaning function.
For details on setting the software switch (CSTM), see "Setting the software
switch (CSTM)."
For example, to set the Special Eject Auto Cleaning function to OFF
and Auto Cleaning function to ON and set a cleaning cassette in Bin 8,
you would input as follows:
