Affixing a Bar Code Label

Affixing a CODE39 bar code label
Bar code labels must be affixed within the label area of a cassette.
When affixing a CODE39 bar code, print the bar code on a label, then affix
the label within the label area of the bar code positioned correctly on the
cassette.
An incorrectly positioned label may cause a bar code reading error.
For both L- and S-cassettes, affix the labels according to the following
stipulations.

• The bottom edge of the bar code should be about 8 mm from the bottom
edge of the cassette.
• The (right-to-left) width of the label affixed to the cassette must be not
more than about 142 mm including start and stop margins. Otherwise, the
bar code reader may not be able to read the bar code.
Notes
• The bar code label must be horizontal, as illustrated above.
• As for manufacturers of a bar code label or bar code printer, refer to Sony
service representative.
