Special Eject Auto Cleaning Function

Setting the Special Eject Auto Cleaning function
20(E)
When an error which requires cleaning of the tape streamer using a
cleaning tape occurs during a read/write operation on the tape streamer, the
streamer ejects the tape without unloading (Special Eject function), and
automatically executes cleaning using a cleaning tape.
In special eject status, the tape streamer automatically ejects the tape and
loads the designated cleaning tape. After cleaning is completed, the tape
streamer returns the cleaning tape to the original bin, and the tape
previously ejected is inserted in the tape streamer.
Notes
•Set the Special Eject function on the tape streamer to ON.
For details, refer to the Operation Manual furnished with the tape streamer.
•When the DMS-B9 receives the SCSI command during a Special Eject
Auto Cleaning operation, the unit finishes the operation in Check
Condition except for Request Sense or Inquiry. The reported error is Not
Ready (Sense key: 02, ASC: 04, ASCQ: 00), which may cause an error
with some application programs on the host computer.
•Place a cleaning tape in the bin designated with the software switch.
The factory setting of the Special Eject Auto Cleaning function is OFF.
Setting the function ON or OFF and designating the bin for the cleaning
tape is done via the RS-232C port.
