Power Vent Option

The Power Vent system must be installed and calibrated as instructed in the Field Controls
While we recommend a natural draft chimney as the preferred venting solution for the furnace, the
Power Vent Option is an alternative venting solution for situations where a natural draft chimney is not
practical.
In addition to the venting considerations illustrated at the beginning of this section, the installation of
the Power Vent requires additional site planning for venting, power, and wiring of the sensors.
Installation must be performed by a qualified installer, according to federal, state,
provincial, and local codes.
The components involved in the Power Vent installation are:
Field Controls SWG-5AF Power Vent
Field Controls DIP-1 pressure switch
Field Controls WMO-1 blocked vent switch
Barometric Draft Control
The Power Vent Option comes with the SWG-5AF, DIP-1, and WMO-1. The Barometric Draft Control is
included with the furnace. Installation and calibration of the entire Power Vent system is detailed in
the documents provided by Field Controls included with the components.
Installing the Field Controls Power Vent requires a 120VAC power circuit in addition to the power circuit
for the furnace.
Refer your installer to the section in this document titled "SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM WITH POWER VENT
OPTION" for information regarding interfacing the Field Controls DIP-1 pressure switch and the Field
Controls WMO-1 blocked vent switch with the furnace.
