TROUBLESHOOTING, MAINTENANCE AND CARE
Outdoor sensor (signal transmission)
The outdoor sensor does not transmit to the main unit display. Make sure one trademark battery
(alkaline) is inserted. The transmitter is a radio device and requires high-quality batteries in order to
correctly transmit the radio signal. Batteries perform less well at temperatures under +10 °C; zinc-
carbon batteries are unsuitable for use in this temperature range. Rechargeable batteries are not
suitable for use as they do not supply sufficient voltage.
Outdoor sensor (range)
The outdoor sensor has a theoretical range of 30 meters. However, this applies only to outdoor use
without the presence of any barriers. It is therefore recommended not to exceed a distance of 3 and 5
meters between the main unit and outdoor sensor. Some ambient conditions such as reinforced walls or
soundproofed double windows interfere with radio signal reception and significantly reduce the range.
Outdoor sensor (main unit display, signal transmission)
The outdoor temperature shown on the main unit does not correspond to the reception channel
temperature or no temperature is shown. An interfering signal (interfering transmitter) may have
registered to the main unit. It is also possible that the frequency was blocked while registering the
outdoor sensor.
Proceed as follows. First remove the batteries from the sensor. Then press the CH (B5) button on the
backside of the main unit for 2 seconds. A beep sounds and the main unit begins searching for the
outdoor sensor. Now reinsert the batteries into the outdoor sensor and wait until the sensor transmits
the temperature to the main unit. Verify that the transmitted temperature corresponds to the sensor
display. If both temperatures correspond, wait another 3 minutes. Then verify again that both measured
values correspond. If so, close the outdoor sensor and return it to its intended location. If not, repeat all
steps elsewhere.
Display
If the display weakens, make sure the battery you inserted is of the correct type. You may also be looking
at the display from the wrong angle. Many devices with LCD display cannot be viewed equally well from
every angle.
Radio clock:
The clock does not set automatically. Change the location of the device. Make sure the inserted
batteries are of the correct type. Please note that low-quality batteries often do not guarantee proper
operation of the device.
