In the ROTARY SWITCH shown, S3A-6 refers to switch S3, the rear of the wafer, (looking in
from the rear) solder lug No . 6.
ROTARY SWITCHES are viewed from the rear and the pins are numbered in a counterclockwise
manner.

FUSE AND FUSEHOLDER

The fuse has been assigned the reference designation, F l , while the fuseholder is denoted by
XFl.
HARDWARE
Hardware is a general term for mechanical parts used in the assembly of kits . Such items
are usually screws , nuts and washers . Machine screws are sized in accordance with the diameters
of the threaded portion (No. 2, No. 4, No. 6) , with the smaller number denoting the smaller dia­
meter. The second number indicates the number of threads to an inch.
Thus� a No . 6- 32 screw has a No. 6 diameter with 32 threads per inch. The final number
indicates the length of the threaded portion. A No. 6-32
portion.
