    • Long Papers:

    1. Load long paper in the paper tray by allowing the leading edge of the paper to roll over.

    2. Select User-Defined as the paper size setting.

    3. Prepare a box or other support for the paper as long paper cannot be held in the output tray.

    4. Do not touch paper that is being fed or ejected.

      • Printer connected to SuperSpeed USB port: If using a USB 2.0 cable with a SuperSpeed USB port, a communication error may occur. Try a USB 3.0 cable, connect to a Hi-Speed USB port, or use a different SuperSpeed USB port.
    • Software or Data Problems:
      • Software not installed: Ensure the necessary scanning applications like Epson Scan 2 and Document Capture Pro are installed on your computer.
      • Large data size images: If scanning large images, the computer may run out of memory. Try scanning at a lower resolution or a smaller size.
      • Printer's status: Check the printer's status using EPSON Status Monitor to ensure it is not pending or offline. If it is, clear the offline/pending setting from the Printer menu.
      • Printer not selected as default: Right-click the printer icon and select Set as default printer.

    To clean the scanner glass on your Epson WF-C878R printer:

    1. Open the document cover.
    2. Take the cleaning cloth from the cleaning cloth holder.
    3. Use the cleaning cloth to clean the surface of the scanner glass.
    4. Return the cleaning cloth to the cleaning cloth holder.
    5. Close the document cover.
      • Caution: Be careful not to trap your hand or fingers when closing the document cover. Never use alcohol or thinner to clean the printer as these chemicals can damage it.
