HOW TO AVOID MALFUNCTIONS

Before turning on the instrument, check that
all stations are covered. Please note that the
covers put on properly.
Check for correct liquid level.
Note:
The containers are marked showing
the
max.
solutions should be filled to approx. 1 –
2 mm below this mark and wash solutions (H
alcohol, Xylene etc.) approx. 1 – 2 mm above this
mark. This way, it is guaranteed that the staining
solutions are rinsed off properly.
Insert the basket with specimens into the
basket carrier in a correct way.
To avoid glass damage, insert the slides into
the intended guidance of the basket.
The drawer for the entry and exit stations
must be closed. By no means, open it while
the basket carrier is just inserted or removed
from a station.
Check, if the charcoal filter has been inserted.
Danger:
The instrument must not be operated
without charcoal filter, as the vapors
are then released unfiltered into the
ambient air.
Moreover, sufficient space (approx. 15 cm) for
ventilation must be guaranteed on either side
of the instrument.
Correct
water
guaranteed.
Water flow must be free from impurity (e.g.
rust precipitation). If necessary, add a filter.
The water drain must have a constant
declination.
Do not mark the covers of the stations, as
they are replaced during a protocol run.
Do not place heavy objects onto the hood.
Before turning off the instrument, please note
that all protocols have been processed.
Warning:
Turn off the water flow after having
finished the daily routine.
After having finished the daily work, shut
down the instrument in a controlled way.
