UK │ 9. Installation preparations
● correct installation position with terminal
box facing upwards or sideways. The
terminal box may not face downwards.
● free air inlet or outlet with protection against
accidental contact according to EN ISO
13857, for example with the Maico SGR
protective grille.
● Avoidance of sound bridges with the
structure. Observe planning instructions
regarding unit position and distance to
other façade components. Use isolating
elements if necessary.
● Use of air filters in the duct when operating
in a dusty environment.
Observe the air flow and rotational
direction arrow on terminal box cover.
For installation, we recommend flexible fixing
cuffs (ELR type). These prevent the trans-
mission of vibrations to the duct system.

10. Mounting

NOTICE
Functional problems and unit damage
due to rubbing impeller if installed
incorrectly. Do not tensely install the
diagonal fan.
NOTICE
Risks of leakages if unit is not sealed
tightly enough. Fan must be connected to
the duct system with flexible cuffs (ELR
types) and vibration dampers. Fit suitable
insulation, sound-deadening and installation
material.

Depending on the installation
position, the diagonal fan serves to
aerate or ventilate  flow and
rotational direction arrows on the
terminal box cover.
1. Disconnect the fan from the voltage in
accordance with the 5 electrotechnical
safety regulations ( Chapter 4).
2. Make sure the housing has a level base at
the installation location.
3. Lay a power cable to the installation
location.
4. Transport unit to installation site 
observe Chapter 8.
5. Remove terminal box cover [9] ( Fig. A).
6. Remove fan unit [1] (= Fan housing with
motor, impeller and terminal box  Fig.
A). To do so, open both brackets [4].
7. Attach outlet and inlet connection sockets
with integrated mounting foot [2]+[3] with
screws [S] at installation location. Suitable,
sufficiently dimensioned mounting material
is to be supplied by the customer. Ensure
that both locking hooks [X] are correctly
engaged.
8. Insert fan unit [1], close both brackets [4]
and screw them tight. Observe air flow
direction.
To avoid leakage, ensure that the fan
unit is not inserted at an angle and is
correctly inserted in the brackets'
grooves.
