Safety Precautions for Installing the Split Air Conditioner

Warning: To ensure safety, please be mindful of the following precautions.
 When installing or relocating the unit, be sure to keep the refrigerant circuit free of air or any
substances other than the specified refrigerant.
 Presence of air or other foreign substances in the refrigerant circuit will cause the system
pressure to rise or the compressor to rupture. This can lead to injury.
 When installing or moving this unit, do not use or charge refrigerant that does not comply with
the rating label on the unit or local safety codes. Consult the rating label for refrigerant type
and volume.
 Using unqualified refrigerant can lead to abnormal operation, mechanical malfunctions, and
serious safety hazards.
 If refrigerant needs to be recovered in order to relocate or repair the unit, make sure the unit is
running in cooling mode. Next, fully close the liquid valve at the high pressure side, wait 30-40
seconds, and then close the gas valve at the low pressure side. Immediately turn the unit off
and disconnect unit from power.
 The duration of refrigerant recovery should not exceed one (1) minute. If refrigerant recovery
takes too long, a vacuum may be created which can cause the pressure to rise or the
compressor to rupture, which can result in injury.
During refrigerant recovery, ensure that the liquid valve and gas valve are fully closed and
that power is disconnected before you detach the connection pipe.
 If the compressor starts running when the stop valve is open and the connection pipe is not
yet connected, air will be sucked in and cause the pressure to rise or the compressor to
rupture, which can result in injury.
 While installing the unit, make sure that the connection pipe is securely connected before the
compressor starts running.
 If the compressor starts running when the stop valve is open and the connection pipe is not
yet connected, a vacuum may be created which can cause the pressure to rise or the
compressor to rupture, which can result in injury.
 Do not install the unit anywhere near possibly leaking corrosive or flammable gas.
Leaked gas near the unit could cause explosions or other hazardous accidents.
 Do not use extension cords with this unit. If the electric wire is not long enough, contact an
authorized service center that can provide you with a suitable electric wire.
 Poor electrical connections could lead to electric shock or fire.
 Be sure to use the specified wire types for electrical connections between the indoor and
outdoor unit. Clamp the wires firmly so that their terminals do not receive any external
stresses.
 Electric wires with insufficient capacity, improper wire connections, or insecure wire terminals
can cause electric shock or fire.
