3-2 AFTER ASSEMBLY - SAFETY
WARNING
1. B E S U R E ALL NUT S, BO LT S ,
OTHER FASTENERS AND HYDRAULIC
FITTINGS ARE PROPERLY TIGHT-
ENED. REFER TO THE BOLT TORQUE
CHART.
2. BE SURE ALL SAFETY GUARDS
AND SAFETY LOCKING DEVICES ARE
IN PLACE AND FUNCTION PROPERLY.
3-3 GENERAL ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
3-3.1
The terms "right" and "left", "front" and
"rear", refer to the machine as viewed by fac-
ing in the direction of forward travel.
3-3.2
Open all bundles. Do not mix parts of one
bundle with those of another. Place all bun-
dles where they will be easy to access.
3-4 ASSEMBLY INSTUCTIONS
3-4.1
The D5P18 and D10P18 Series Power
Ditcher is completely assembled at the fac-
tory, except for the universal drive shaft
which is wired to the "A" frame.

ERATOR'S MANUAL.
CAUTION
BEFORE DELIVERING THE MACHINE,
REVIEW MACHINE MAINTENANCE,
OPERATION AND SAFETY WITH THE
CUSTOMER.
3-3.3
Neatly arrange parts and tools within easy
reach of work area.
3-3.4
Use the correct grade of bolt in the proper
locations as indicated. Refer to the bolt
torque chart for descriptive markings on bolt
heads.
3-3.5
After completing each assembly step, re-
view next step in procedure before proceed-
ing with that step.
3-4.2
Thoroughly clean the end of the drive shaft
and attach it to the input shaft of the ditcher
with a 7/16" x 1" hex bolt, lock washer and
special flat washer and with two 3/8" x 2-1/2"
grade 8 shear bolts and lock nuts.
3-4.3
The power ditcher is now fully assembled
and ready for attachment to the tractor.
