TRENCHER
MAINTENANCE SHEET
N° 06
EVERY DAY
1) Position the trench jib so that the chain is parallel to the ground (see Fig.);
2) Check the belt tightness. If average force is applied the chain should bend by about 2-3
cm.
3) If the chain is too tight proceed as follows:
a) Loosen the nut (Ref.1) by a few turns.
b) Loosen the screws (Ref.2) until the required chain tightness is achieved.
c) Fully tighten the nut (Ref.1).
4) If the chain is not tight enough proceed as follows:
a) Loosen the nut (Ref.1) by a few turns.
b) Loosen the screw (Ref.2) until the required chain tightness is achieved.
c) Fully tighten the nut (Ref.1).

MAKE SURE THAT THE TRENCH CHAIN IS SUITABLY TIGHT. IF IT IS TOO "TIGHT" IT WILL
DEFORM THE SHAFT, IF IT IS TOO "SLACK" IT MAY ESCAPE FROM THE GUIDE.
6) Lubricate the needles, seats and moving chain parts with diesel oil;
7) Record the operation on registration sheet N°06.
