My Frigidaire countertop ice maker isn't making ice. I unplugged it overnight and cleaned with vinegar. It isn't making ice.

Your Frigidaire EFIC117-SS ice maker may not be making ice after cleaning due to several possible reasons:

1. Water Reservoir Issues – Ensure the water reservoir is filled up to the MAX water level mark. If it is empty or too low, the ice-making cycle will not start.

2. Power Reset Needed – After cleaning, wait at least 3 minutes before pressing the power button to restart the ice-making function.

3. Room Temperature Adjustment – The unit may need to warm up to room temperature before functioning properly.

4. Cleaning Residue – If vinegar or cleaning solution was used, ensure it has been completely rinsed out, as residue might interfere with ice formation.

5. Evaporator Fingers – The manual advises against cleaning the evaporator fingers. If they were touched or damaged, they may not freeze water properly.

6. Electrical Issues – Confirm that the unit is properly plugged in and the green LED light is on. If not, check the power source.

Try these steps, and if the issue persists, further troubleshooting may be needed.

Turn off the ice maker, unplug it, and then plug it back in to reset the sensor. If needed, drain a small amount of water by removing the drain cap at the back and then replace it. Restart the unit and check if the indicator turns off.

I have a Frigidaire counter ice maker EFIC117-SSBlack. Why & where may it leak water? It appears to leak on the left side. The plug seems tight. It has never been dropped or abused.

Ice maker has “add water” indicator on, despite having enough water. I have tried resetting it, unplugging it, and emptying some water. How do I fix this?

Turn off the ice maker, unplug it, and check the water level. If the tank has enough water, there may be air in the lines or a blockage. Remove the drain cap at the back of the unit, drain a small amount of water, then replace the cap. Plug the unit back in and restart it. If the issue persists, inspect for any blockages or sensor malfunctions.

My icemaker says "ice full" when there is no ice in bucket. Will not fill the reservoir. Suggestions?

Your Frigidaire EFIC117-SS icemaker may display "Ice Full" when the bucket is empty because the sensor detecting the ice level could be blocked or malfunctioning. Additionally, the water reservoir may not be detecting the water level due to a blockage or an issue with the sensor. Try the following steps:

1. Check if any ice is blocking the sensor and remove it.
2. Ensure the water reservoir is properly filled and the water level sensor is not obstructed.
3. If the issue persists, unplug the machine, let any ice melt, and restart it.

If the problem continues, there may be an issue with the sensor or internal components requiring service.

My icemaker efic117 is will only freeze a correct ice cube when the room temperature is below 65 degrees

The Frigidaire EFIC117-SS icemaker may not freeze ice cubes correctly when the room temperature is above 65°F (approximately 18°C) because higher temperatures can affect the cooling efficiency of the refrigeration system. The manual states that the machine should operate at an ambient temperature below 32°C (about 90°F) and with cooler water in the reservoir. If the surrounding temperature is too high, the refrigeration system may struggle to maintain the necessary freezing conditions, leading to longer ice-making cycles or improper ice formation.

My "ice full" light never turns on, and my ice maker is making too much ice

The "Ice Full" light may not turn on if the ice sensor is blocked or malfunctioning. To fix the issue of the ice maker producing too much ice:

1. Check if ice is blocking the ice pusher. If so, turn off the unit, let the ice melt, and restart.
2. Ensure the ice basket is properly positioned.
3. Remove excess ice from the storage basket to allow the sensor to detect when it is full.

If the problem persists, inspect the sensor for any dirt or obstruction and clean it if necessary.

The "Add Water" light may still be on even after adding water and cleaning due to one of the following reasons:
1. Low Water Level or Lack of Water: Ensure that enough water is added so the sensor can detect it.
2. Air in the Lines or Blocked Lines: There may be air trapped in the water lines or a blockage preventing the system from detecting the water level. Try draining a small amount of water by removing the drain cap at the back and then restarting the unit.
3. Electrical Power Surge: A power surge may have affected the system. Turn off the ice maker, unplug it, wait a few minutes, and restart it.
4. Faulty Water Level Detection: If the water tank sensor cannot detect the water level correctly, the unit may not register the added water. Ensure the sensor is clean and functioning properly.
