Clearly mark line of cut on the work. Set saw for orbital motion to get the best plunge cut per-for mance.
Grasp front housing with one hand and rear handle with the other hand. To start cut, rest saw on shoe
bracket, align blade with the marked line of cut, (b lade NOT touching work),as shown in Fig. 13. Start saw.
Using bracket as a pivot point, roll saw forward by raising rearhandle, as shown in Fig. 14. When blade
has cut through the work, continue raising the rearhandle until saw is perpendicular to the work surface.
Keep saw in this position and move blade along line of cut.
SAWING METAL
When cutting angle, H-beam, I-beam, channel, etc., start the cut on the surface where the greatest number
of teeth will contact the work. To make a pocket cut, drill a starting hole first. To extend blade life, cutting
oil can be applied to the work surface along the line of the cut.
KEEP TOOL CLEAN
Periodically blow out all air passages with dry, compressed air. All plastic parts shouldbe cleaned with soft
damp cloth. NEVER use solvents to clean plastic parts. They couldpossiblydissolve or otherwise damage
the material.
WARNING
FAILURE TO START
Should your tool fail to start, check to make sure the prongs on the cord plug are makinggood contact in
the outlet. Also, check for blown fuses or open circuit breakers in the line.
BRUSH INSPECTION AND LUBRICATION
For your continued safety and electrical protection, brush inspection and replacement onthis tool should
ONLY be performed by an Authorized Service Agent for FLEX Power Tools.
At approximately 100 hours of use, take or send your tool to your nearest AuthorizedService Agent for
FLEX Power Tools to be thoroughly cleaned and inspected; worn parts replaced, and when necessary;
relubricated with fresh lubricant, if required; reassembled with new brushes; and performance tested.
Any loss of power before the above maintenance check may indicate the need forimmediate servicing of
your tool. DO NOT CONTINUE TO OPERATE TOOL UNDER THIS CONDITION. If proper operating
voltage is present, return your tool to the Service Agent for immediate service.
SERVICE AND REPAIRS
All quality tools will eventually require servicing or replacement of parts due to wear fromnormal use.
These operations, including brush inspection and replacement, should ONLY be performed by an
AUTHORIZED Service Agent for FLEX Power Tools. All repairs made bythese agencies are fully
guaranteed against defective materialand workmanship. We cannot guarantee repairs made or attempted
by anyone other than these agencies.
Should you have any questions about your tool, feel free to write us at any time. In anycommunications,
please give all information shown on the nameplate of your tool (modelnumber, type, serial number, etc.).
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Only for EU countries. Do not dispose of electric tools together with household wastematerial! In
observance of European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical andelectronic equipment and
its implementation in accordance with national law, electric tools that have reached the end of
their life must be collected separately and returned to an environmentally compatible recycling
facility.

MAINTENANCE

Wear ANSI Z87.1 safety glasses while using compressed air.
