is around -75 dBm and less, the handset gets DECT Frame Errors for Portable Part
(handset) and Fixed Part (base) direction. These errors might cause audio mute or noise
problems.
• DECT Codec: This field displays the DECT codec. For narrowband audio, the DECT
codec is G.726 and for wideband audio, it is G.722. See the following table:

• Channels: The four DECT channels indicate air interference. If the first channel from left
is low, then there is a high intensity of DECT interference, and you must expect audio
problems at some distance from the base. When the handset is near the base, you can
have good audio, even at value 0. If the rough estimate is below 30, then you must
expect shortened DECT range.

Problem cause
The sound off icon is seen in the
status bar; hence the handset is
silent mode.
The keylock is enabled, and a
"Press and hold *" screen is
displayed when pressing any key.

coverage area of the base station
