View accelerometer data

Once you complete the calibration procedure, you can view the accelerometer data. To view
the data, click the dark green View accelerometer button in the MV4 monitor interface
(Figure 46 on page 61). With the accelerometer on a flat surface, the minimum and
maximum on the Z axis should be close to 1, and the minimum and maximum on the X and
Y axes should be close to zero (Figure 49).

DVR accelerometer alarm event

Once you complete the calibration procedure, you can configure the DVR to perform certain
functions based on the accelerometer activation setting. Refer to your MobileView Video
Manager User Manual for detailed information regarding the access and configuration of
alarm events. The instructions in this manual only refer to setting the accelerometer alarm
event configuration.
Figure 50 on page 64 shows a typical alarm event configuration for the accelerometer. You
can add an accelerometer event by clicking the Add new event button and entering a
suitable explanation of the alarm such as Accelerometer. Click the G-force circle and select
X, Y, and Z if all you wish to use all three axes. A typical set-point setting is between 3.0 and
4.0 G, depending on the sensitivity desired. A setting of 3.0 G will typically trigger an event
if the vehicle drives over curbs or potholes on the road in a fairly rough manner.
