Draining
MAINTENANCE
Risk of severe injury or death by electrical shock, high
temperatures, or pressurized fluids.
• Always disconnect the electrical power before servicing the pump or switch.
• Check the pump periodically for loose or rubbing parts.
• Service immediately if any unusual noise, leaks, or vibrations develop.
• Drain the pump should it be subjected to freezing temperatures.
• The pump requires no lubrication.
Draining
1. Remove the drain plug located at the bottom of the front face of the pump casing (10) and the priming
plug (11).
2. Make sure that the drain hole is not choked.
3. After all the water has been drained, operate the pump for a few seconds to ensure that the impeller is
devoid of water.
4. Make sure that the suction line is also devoid of water.
Disassembly
1. Disconnect electric power.
2. Drain pump.
3. Disconnect piping.
4. Remove the 4 bolts (1) and take off the casing (2).
5. Remove motor cap (8) and insert a screwdriver. Unscrew the
impeller (4) in a counter-clockwise direction.
6. Slip the rotating seal (5) from shaft (7) of seal plate/motor
assembly.
7. Remove seal plate (9) from the motor, being careful not to dam-
age the ceramic seat (6).
8. Inspect the ceramic seat (6). If it needs replacing, press it out of
the adapter from the motor end.
IMPORTANT: Do not remove the flinger (12) from the shaft.
Reassembly
1. Clean all parts with liquid soap thoroughly before reassembly.
2. Push the rubber cup on the ceramic seat (6) into the seal plate (9).
• Make sure that the smooth surface of the ceramic seat faces outward.
3. Assemble the seal plate (9) to the electric motor, being careful not to damage the ceramic seat (6).
4. Lubricate the rotating seal (5) with liquid soap and slip it onto the shaft (7) with the seal ring towards
the ceramic seat (6).
• Make sure that the seal ring face on the rotating seal contacts the ceramic seat.
5. Screw on the impeller (4).
6. Assemble the casing (2) and use a new gasket (3).
7. Check to ensure that the impeller can rotate freely in the casing.
8. Reconnect pump to suction and discharge hoses.

to prime and start the pump.
