Symptom
Engine lacks power or is not

Possible Cause
Verify throttle is in RUN position when engine is warm.
Verify throttle cable is attached to engine and moves freely.
Inspect air filter intake for clogging.
Verify engine blower house, throttle linkage and cooling fins are free of debris.
Clean as necessary.
Air filter may be dirty. Change as necessary.
Remove spark plug wire and dry connection with a rag.
Spark plug may be dirty or cracked. Change as necessary. If spark plug is oily,
leave it out, hold a rag over the plug hole(s) and crank engine several times to
blow out any oil in the cylinders. Wipe off plug and install.
Fuel may be old. Change as necessary.
Check engine oil level.

Store cords in a plastic bag with a damp sponge or cloth to make them more pli-
able or store them in a bucket of water for a few days.
Cutting too fast. Ease into the material. Let the cord tips do the work. Take small
bites of tall or tough vegetation. Cut half a swath at a time, keeping the cut area
to the right side of the trimmer. Go over tall material twice, the first time with the
trimmer head tilted up and back; the second time with the Mow-Ball
ground.
Cords striking a stone, chain-link fence, or other obstacle. Approach hard obsta-
cles slowly and avoid contact.
Avoid pushing the trimmer head down into the ground. The trimmer/mower works
