General Information and Setup

Remove Contents from Carton

1. See
Table 1.
Remove and verify carton contents prior
to assembly. Carton contents should contain the fol-
lowing:

Description
Nut, Nylon Lock, 7/16-20, LP
Cord Caddy
#10 Screw
#10 Nylon Locknut
2. Contact Generac Customer Service at 1-888-436-
3722 (1-888-GENERAC), or
with the unit model and serial number for any miss-
ing carton contents.
3. Record model, serial number, and date of pur-
chase on front cover of this manual.

Installing Wheels

1. See
Table
2-2. Insert .510" X .875" X .1" washer
(A) onto axle.

2. Slide wheel onto axle with plastic hub facing out.
3. Install 7/16-20 locknut (B).
4. Repeat for the other wheel.
Adjusting Trimmer/Mower Handlebar

3. Tighten both adjustment knobs.
NOTE: Verify adjuster teeth (C) mesh.

Installing Cutting Cords

NOTE: Always install all four trimmer cords with cords of
equal length. Not installing all four cords or installing
cords of varying lengths will cause excessive vibration
and could damage the machine.

2-5. Insert trimmer cord (A) into inlet
hole (B) and push it in until the end protrudes out
the other side (C) about 1/2 in (12.7 mm).

2. Repeat until all four cords are installed.
NOTE: The cord can only move through the cord head in
one direction. To remove an old cord the cord must be
pulled through the cord head.

Cutting Cord Tips

Do not store cords in sunlight. UV light causes pre-
mature wear.
Keep cords pliable by soaking them in room tem-
perature water for a few days before use.
Replace cords one at a time and use old cord to
mark the position for new cord being installed.
Remove any cord broken off flush at the line plate
with needle nose pliers.
Do not add additional cords to the head.
