II. SAFETY Your Carry On is a battery-operated personal mobility vehicle. Please exercise caution and consideration when you are operating it. Driving your Carry On carefully and thoughtfully will help ensure your personal safety and the safety of other people. • Whenever it is safely possible, drive forward down any ramp, low rise, or incline. Golden Technologies, Inc. does not recommend that you drive your scooter in reverse down any incline, ramp, curb, or low rise. Backing down any slope may create a very hazardous situation.

V. OPERATION FREEWHEEL MODE Your Carry On is equipped with a freewheel lever that can set your scooter in or out of freewheel mode. Figure 9: Freewheel Switch (Drive Position) To disengage the park brake and put your scooter in freewheel mode: Press the (1) symbol on the freewheel switch.

RIDING YOUR Carry On CONTROL THROUGH TIGHT SPOTS As you use your Golden Carry Onto greatly increase your mobility, you will undoubtedly encounter some obstacles that will require practice to negotiate smoothly and safely. Below are some common obstacles that you may meet during the daily use of your scooter.
VII. DISASSEMBLY DISASSEMBLY Your Carry On scooter is designed to be disassembled/folded easily in order to be transported. When disassembling your scooter, please be sure to follow these simple instructions. Remove the Seat 1. Place your scooter on a level surface. Remove the key from the key switch before you begin to disassemble/fold your Carry On.

VII. DISASSEMBLY Fold Down and Lock the Seat Frame 7. Pull both spring loaded seat pins outward simultaneously, and while holding them out; push the seat frame forward and down. See figure 14. WARNING! Be careful not to pinch your fingers between the frames. This area is a pinch-point and requires your full attention.
VIII. ASSEMBLY WARNING! Be aware of any possible pinch-points when folding the seat frame or tiller. Please note warning labels at pinch-points during assembly. WARNING! Pinching and crushing hazard! Increased hazards due to pinching or crushing result due to the component weight (such as the battery pack) during preparation for transport and maintenance work.

X. CARE AND MAINTENANCE IMPORTANT! A new battery pack MUST be fully charged prior to the initial use of your scooter. Charge the new battery pack for 12 hours even if the battery gauge already shows a full charge. This is to condition your new battery pack for maximum performance.
• Recharge your Carry On’s battery pack. See “Battery Pack and Charging” in this section of this manual. • If the problem continues, have your authorized Golden Technologies, Inc. provider load test the battery pack. • If the battery pack is good, the charger may be the problem. Consult your authorized Golden Technologies, Inc.
• Your scooter will not operate until the motor control board cools back to its operational temperature range. Remedy: • Turn off your Carry On’s key switch and allow the scooter to sit for 10 minutes. • Consult your authorized Golden Technologies, Inc. provider.

X. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Fuses Non-Flash/Beep Code Faults If the following faults occur, please check the appropriate fuses located inside the power module panel or at the center of the tiller. Refer to figures 26 and 27 below for fuse replacement and warnings.
