    SPCMxxA Operating Instructions Operating Principle The Thorlabs SPCMxxA uses a silicon avalanche photo diode (Si APD), operated in reverse di- rection and biased slightly beyond the breakdown threshold voltage V (see diagram below, point A), also known as avalanche voltage.

    Prior to proceed with the firmware update, an actual FW version must be downloaded from www.thorlabs.com. Therefore, please open the SPCM product page and click to the tab "Soft- ware" in the main table. In the software tab, click on the link that will redirect you to our Product Software pages.
