3.3 Designing the Platen Open Lever
3.3.1 Positioning the platen open lever
Refer to Section 2.10, Overall Dimensions, in the specification for the position and shape of the
platen open lever.
3.3.2 Movable area of the platen open lever
The platen (paper roll upper case) is locked when it is pushed. When the paper roll upper case is
open, it is necessary to release the platen by pushing down the platen open lever.
The position and movable area of the platen open lever is shown in the figure below. Design the
movable area so that the platen open lever does not interfere with the gears or the returning
spring.
If designing a part that operates the lever indirectly, make sure to design it so that the lever is
certain to return to the default position.
