5) Driving frequency for each step
a) c is the constant speed time (when the print speed is 50 mm/s, c = 1.25 ms).
*1: Two-part energizing mode with the strobe signal
*2: Three-part energizing mode with the strobe signal
Execute chopping control from the time that the driving time for one step has passed to the time
when output of all strobe signals is completed, if the strobe signal is longer than the driving time for
steps in divided or undivided control of the low power supply voltage.
b) For chopping control, ON time T1 is 0.3 ms and OFF time T2 is 0.05 ms.
c) After chopping control has finished, the driving time c1 of the next excitation step is selected from
the last driving time, including the chopping time.
• The last driving time was longer than s12 in Table 2.1.1
The next excitation step = The longest slow-up step in the period for one step
• The last driving time was shorter than s12 in Table 2.1.1
The next excitation step = c
The following description is an example of the setting of the drifting time for the next excitation step
c1 after the chopping control shown in the figure on the previous page is executed.
When the printing speed is 50 mm/s:
The setting example for energizing step 18 in the timing chart:
If the driving time for energizing step 17 (c + tc1) is 2 ms, s6 (1.935 ms) < c + tc1 < s5 (2.3 ms).
Then energizing c1 for energizing step 18 is 1.935 ms.
The setting example for energizing step 19 in the timing chart:
Since the driving time for energizing step 18 (c1 + tc2) is same as for energizing step 17, c1 for
energizing step 19 is 1.935 ms.
The setting example for energizing step 20 in the timing chart:
If the driving time for energizing step 19 (c + tc3) is 2.5 ms, s5 (2.3 ms) < c1 + tc3 < s4 (3 ms).
Then c2 for energizing step 20 is 2.3 ms.
The setting example for energizing step 21 in the timing chart:
Since the driving time for energizing step 20 (c2 + tc4) is same as for energizing step 19, c2 for
energizing step 21 is 2.3 ms.
The setting example for energizing step 22 in the timing chart:
Since the driving time for energizing step 21 is 2.3 ms, c3 for energizing step 22 is s6 (1.935 ms)
according to Table 2.1.1.
The setting example for energizing step 22 in the timing chart:
Since the driving time for energizing step 22 is 1.935 ms, c4 for energizing step 23 is s7 (1.705
ms), according to Table 2.1.1.
The setting example for energizing step 24 in the timing chart:
Since the driving time for energizing step 23 is 1.705 ms, c5 for energizing step 24 is s8 (1.55 ms),
according to Table 2.1.1.
