3. Handling Precautions

Be sure to observe the following safety precautions in order to maintain the product's functions and
performance.
• Th is product should be handled and installed by operators who have read and understood this
Instruction Manual.
• Do not apply excessive force to the scale shaft . Doing so may damage the internal coupling mechanism.
• Do not bring magnets or other magnetically charged objects near the magnetic surface of the unit.
Doing so may destroy the magnetic recording.
• Use a clean cloth, etc. to wipe the surfaces gently when cleaning them. Do not use any organic solvents
other than alcohol. Even when using alcohol to clean the surfaces, simply wipe them gently.
Wipe gently with a cloth
containing alcohol.
When storing or transporting the unit
• When storing or transporting the unit, secure the unit and the scale shaft using the transport plate that
was attached when the product was shipped, and use packaging materials.
