Chapter 4 Basic Setup

Before using the DVK-400 for chromakeying, it is necessary for users to set the DVK-400 up in
advance. Please follow following steps for setting the basic setup of the DVK-400.
1. Please use an HDMI cable to connect from the foreground camera input source to the
"FOREGROUND CAMERA" HDMI interface. If there is SDI interface only for your foreground
camera, please use a SDI cable to connect the foreground camera to the "CAM IN" SDI interface
on the rear panel of the DVK-400.
1. Please use an HDMI cable to connect from the foreground camera input source to the
"FOREGROUND CAMERA" HDMI interface on the rear panel of the DVK-400. If there is an SDI
interface only for your foreground camera, please connect the foreground camera to the "CAM
IN" SDI interface on the rear panel of the DVK-400 through an SDI cable.
2. Please use an HDMI cable to connect from your background video source to the
"BACKGROUND" interface on the rear panel of the DVK-400. In this example, the HDMI input
source is the Notebook PC.
3. Please use an HDMI or an SDI cable to connect from the "PVW HDMI" or "PVW SDI" interface on
the rear panel of the DVK-400 to the HDMI interface of an external connected monitor to be the
monitor for monitoring the chromakey effect of the DVK-400.
Notes:
 If users need an external connected mirroring screen, please use an HDMI cable to connect
from the "PGM HDMI" interface on the rear panel of the DVK-400 to the HDMI interface of
an external connected monitor and then this monitor can be used as an external
connected mirroring monitor.
 If it is needed for users to input a Logo, please use an HDMI cable to connected from the
AUX interface on the rear panel of the DVK-400 to the HDMI interface of a laptop.
 If it is needed to use the DVIP protocol to control the DVK-400, please use an RJ-45
Ethernet cable to connect from the RJ-45 Ethernet interface of your laptop to the DVIP RJ-
45 Ethernet interface on the rear panel of the DVK-400.
 If it is needed to use the RS-232 interface to control the DVK-400, please use a D-sub 9 pin
to USB adapter cable to connect from the RS-232 REMOTE CONTROL interface on the rear
panel of the DVK-400 to the USB interface of your laptop.
After those steps are finished, the hardware setup procedure for the DVK-400 is completed.
