Troubleshooting

NOTE - Where necessary, all corrective actions should be carried out by suitably qualified persons.
Problem
Engine does not start
Motor speed drops off
Possible Cause
Throttle choke is not in the
correct position
Fuel tank is empty.
Air cleaner element is dirty.
Spark plug loose.
Spark plug wire loose or
disconnected from plug.
Spark plug gap is incorrect.
Carburetor is flooded with fuel.
Faulty ignition module.
Depth of cut too great
Grass too high
Ejector channel blocked
Air filter clogged
Depth of cut too small
Worn cutting blades
Grass catcher is full/clogged
Ejector channel blocked
Bolts, nuts or other mounting
parts slack.
Cutting assembly is loose.
Possible Corrective Action
Move throttle choke to correct
position
Fill tank with fuel
Clean air cleaner element
Tighten spark plug.
Install spark plug wire on spark
plug.
Set correct gap between
electrodes.
Remove air cleaner element and
pull starter rope continuously
until carburetor clears itself and
install air cleaner element.
Contact the service agent.
Set to smaller depth of cut
Mow the lawn before
scarifying
Pull out spark plug connector,
remove blockage
Clean air filter
Set to correct depth of cut
Having cutting blades
replaced in a specialist work ship
Stop scarifier. Unload grass
catcher or clean it
Pull out spark plug connector,
clean ejection channel
Tighten parts.
Tighten parts.
