Problem
Loss of water pressure.
Excessive water in brine
tank and/or salty water to
service.
Softener fails to use salt.
Valve cycles continuously. Faulty controller.
Continuous flow to drain.

Cause
Scaling/Fouling of inlet pipe.
Fouled resin.
Improper backwash.
Plugged Drain Line.
Dirty or damaged brine valve.
Plugged injector.
Low inlet pressure.
Timer not cycling.
Plugged/restricted drain line.
Injector is plugged.
No water in brine tank.
Water pressure is too low.
Brine line injects air during brine
draw.
Internal valve leak.
Foreign material in control valve.
Internal control valve leakage.
Valve jammed in brine or
backwash position.
Motor stopped or jammed during
regeneration.

Solution
Clean or replace pipeline.
Pretreat to prevent.
Clean the resin. Pretreat to
prevent.
Too many resin fines and/or
sediment. Call dealer, reset
backwash flow rate, and/or adjust
time.
Check flow to drain. Clean flow
control.
Clean or replace brine valve.
Clean injector and replace screen.
Increase pressure to allow
injector to perform properly (1.4
bar minimum).
Replace controller.
Clean drain line and/or flow
control.
Clean or replace injector and
screen.
Check for restriction in BLFC.
Ensure safety float is not stuck.
Line pressure must be at least 1.4
bar.
Check brine line for air leaks.
Call dealer. Check piston, seals
and spacers for scratches and
dents.
Replace controller.
Call dealer. Clean valve, rebuild
unit.
Replace motor.
