    Never repair, disassemble or remodel the instrument. Otherwise, the injury of human bodies or the damage of the instrument may result. Only personnel who are authorized by Olympus are allowed to repair the instrument. Olympus is not liable for any accidents or instrument damage that occurs as a result of repairs attempted by personnel who are not authorized by Olympus.

    3-6 Binding the insertion tube When changing to a different location for observation, the insertion tube can be bound using the fastening strap for easy carrying. Attach the supplied insertion tube fastening strap to this unit. Coil the insertion tube and bundle it using the fastening strap near the bending stopper of the endoscope body.

    IPLEX G Lite Adjusting the brightness ■ Brightness adjustment using the [BRT] lever The [BRT] lever is used to adjust the brightness when changing the overall brightness of the live image during observation. Pushing the [BRT] lever upward brightens the overall image and pushing it downward darkens the image.

    4-7 Switching the folder on the live screen You can create a folder for recording and playing back the image. For details, refer to “File/ folder operation menu” (page 63). On the live screen, you can use the [MEAS/OK] joystick to switch the folder for recording and playing back the image.

    The images being observed can be recorded to an image recording media (SDHC card) as still images or movies. Use the provided SDHC card or the recommended SDHC card. For recommended products, please contact Olympus. SD and SDXC cards are not supported.

    4-9 Playing back the image Recorded images can be displayed using either of two screen views: a full-screen view of a single image (view screen) or a multi-image view of thumbnail images (thumbnail screen). The thumbnail screen shows multiple images at a single glance, which makes it useful when finding a particular image among a large group of images.

    IPLEX G Lite 4-10 Using the constant video Constant video is a feature that automatically records movies up to about 30 minutes while the live screen is displayed. Constant videos can be recorded to a recordable media intended for such a purpose (microSDHC card).

    To perform stereo measurement, it is necessary to use a stereo optical adapter (optional) and expand the functionality to support IPLEX G Lite (stereo measurement function, optionaly). The 3D coordinates of each specified point are calculated by applying the principles of triangulation to a set of images obtained using two objective lenses that are set in parallax.

Make sure that the O-ring in the distal end is properly attached. See “Attaching and removing the optical adapter” (page 24) for information on how to check the O-ring.

    IPLEX G Lite Registering/re-registering a stereo optical adapter Before performing stereo measurement using a stereo optical adapter, register the stereo optical adapter to this unit. Similarly, if the stereo optical adapter and insertion tube combination has changed due to reasons such as purchase of a new optical adapter or repair of the insertion tube, register the stereo optical adapter again.

    Selecting a registered stereo optical adapter If a stereo optical adapter has already been registered, select it from the Optical Adapter Selection screen. Attach the stereo optical adapter to the distal end of the insertion tube, followed by selecting “SELECT OPTICAL ADAPTER” from “Menu Operations”. A list of optical adapters is displayed.

There are 4 different types of measurement methods. ■ Distance This mode allows for measuring the distance between two specified measurement points. Place the cursor on both ends of the measurement area you want to measure and press the [MEAS/ OK] joystick to specify the measurement points.
