STARTING AND DRIVING THE VEHICLE
Select the ignition ON position when the vehicle is being towed.
Do not leave the ignition in ON for long durations when the engine is OFF. This
could lead to battery drain and ignition switch damage.
START — This position is to start the engine by cranking the starter motor. This is a
momentary position. When the key is turned to start position, the starter cranks the
engine. Once the engine is running, release the key, and the key reverts back to ON
position disengaging the starter motor from the engine.
Do not continue cranking after the engine has started. This will lead to damage
of the starter and other engine components.
If turning the key is difficult, jiggle the steering wheel from side to side and try
again. The key can be removed only in the LOCK position. When the key is
removed, the steering column lock is activated and the steering wheel cannot
be turned.
Never return the key to the LOCK position or try to remove the key, when the
vehicle is in motion. Removing the key allows the steering wheel to lock. You will
loose control of the vehicle and may lead to a serious accident. Remove the key
only when the vehicle is parked.
