  • Page 6 POST ASSEMBLY & INSTALLATION Excavate the foundations as detailed using sheet PICUS12-SPEC. Posts labelled 003,004,005 &006 on this part of the unit should all be leaning at a 10 angle away from posts 001 & 002. All posts should all be pre-drilled and of the correct location to achieve this angle. Ensure all bolts and screws are loosely fitted to give enough movement for ropes and timbers to have the appropriate tensioning.
  • Page 7 Create stability to the two frames created on page 2 by adding the horizontal timbers pictured below. First, attach horizontal timber 014 to the two uprights 003 & 004 using the supplied Coach Bolts. (Timber 014 will have a hanging net attachment later on in this instruction so ensure the double counterbores are positioned in the correct places).

  • Page 9 Prop post labelled 009 into the foundation hole. Using the dimensions below, secure posts 015 & 016 to posts 004 & 009 using the supplied Coach Bolts into the pre-drilled holes (post 009 does not have a pre-drilled hole to secure post 015 so this will need to be pre-drilled prior to securing with a Coach Bolt) Ensure post 009 has a scollop at the top of the post which will also point in the correct direction for the Trapeze Swing.
  • Page 10 Prop post labelled 008 into the foundation hole. Position trapeze swing post 010 on top of posts 008 & 009 and secure in place using the illustrated Coach Screws. There are two extra double counterbore holes on post 008. Ensure these holes are approximately guided towards post 005 as these will be used to fit a rope walk.
  • Page 11 Prop post labelled 007 into the foundation hole. Secure post 013 to posts 003 & 007 using the supplied Coach Bolt using the pre-drilled holes as illustrated below. Repeat the same procedure attaching post 018 to posts 007 & 006. As with the other posts pay particular attention to the position of the pre-drilled counterbore holes which will later be used to secure a rope structure.
  • Page 12 With posts 013 and 018 secured in place, position and secure posts 017 & 019 using the dimensions below. These require fixing with 1 x Coach Bolt and 1 x Coach Screw in each post. Both posts 011 & 018 have not been pre-drilled to accept a Coach Bolt so will require drilling on site. Line up post 017 to the underside of post 018 using the below dimensions and drill a hole through.
  • Page 13 Position posts 022,023,026 & 027 into the foundation holes. As with posts 003 & 004 illustrated on page 2, ensure posts 026 & 027 are angled at approx away from posts 022 & 023. As illustrated below add the horizontal post 024 through the uprights and secure to posts 006 & 026 using the supplied Coach Bolts.
  • Page 14 As with page 3, create stability to the two frames created on page 9 by adding the horizontal timbers pictured below. First, attach horizontal timber 014 to the two uprights 026 & 027 using the supplied Coach Bolts (Timber 014 will have a hanging net attachment later on in this instruction so ensure the double counterbores are positioned in the correct places).

  • Page 16 Support post 028 into the foundation hole. Connect and secure both horizontal posts 028 & 008 using post 037 to the dimensions below ensuring to utilise the pre-drilled counterbore holes. Connect upright post 030 to 008 using the supplied Coach Bolt and have the post rest onto post 025. Position so that the counterbore hole is approx 1465mm from the end of post 025, mark and pilot hole before securing post 030 to post 025 using the supplied Coach Screw.
  • Page 17 As shown below, position and secure post 017 to posts 012 & 030 using the supplied Coach Bolts, utilising the pre-drilled holes. Line up the counterbore hole on post 032 with the one on post 029 with timber 032 being on the underside and secure using the supplied Coach Bolt. Rest the other end of post 032 onto horizontal support beam 025.
  • Page 18 Prop post labelled 033 into the foundation hole and keep supported. Offer post 036 against and on the outside of posts 033 & 026. Use the pre-drilled holes and secure post 036 to the upright posts using the supplied Coach Bolts. Use the below diagram as reference heights for post 036 PAGE...
  • Page 19 Position post labelled 034 against the inside of 033 with the other end resting on 018. Line up the hole on 034 with the pre-drilled hole on the upright post and secure to the upright post using the supplied Coach Bolt. Secure the opposite end to post 018 using the supplied Coach Bolt. NOTE: Before fully tightening the fixings, offer the ropes leading from 034 to the opposite beam labelled 024 to ensure the rope is appropriately tensioned.
  • Page 20 Finally the ropes can be added to the unit. Below is a description of the ropes and which posts they are attached to. With the ropes loosely attached, the posts can be adjusted to ensure that the ropes are fully tensioned. With all of the ropes secured, add concrete to the foundation holes and leave for 48 hours.
